The Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site is located about 40 km southwest of Montréal on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. It features Canada’s first lock canal and the remains of a fort. You will be stumbled upon after visiting the fort! There is one tower overlooking the St. Lawrence. The rest of the site is earthen contours and foundational remnants of the old fort.
